It is any name, sign, logo, graphic, word, words, letter or letters used to express a company name, company logo, name, logo, product or service for commercial use.

When a trademark is registered, a certificate is issued and the registration in the UAE is valid for 10 years.
– Procedures and Documents
• Submit a preliminary search request to check whether or not the trademark was previously registered by, and, if no:
• Submit an application accompanied by the required papers and documents and the image of the mark to be registered (white and black).
• The Trademark Registration Office will request publishing the trademark to be registered in two local newspapers. If no objection is submitted within thirty days from the date of announcement, the applicant will be entitled to pay the fees and request a trademark certificate.
• If the stakeholders object to the applicant’s eligibility, then the Trademark Registration Office will provide us with these objections and coordinate with the client to reply thereto.
• A Trademark Registration Office’s specialized committee will consider the objection; it may accept or reject it. If such objection is accepted, the matter will be considered by the commercial court and the shareholder may file a case before it.
